Iliad

Between Paris and Menelaus, who do you consider as a nobler/greater/more honorable man?
· What incidents support your answer?
· Who can be cited as a modern day Paris/Menelaus? Why?

I think Menelaus is greater man than Paris because Menelaus is already winning when the protector of Aphrodite stop the battle and both go to their respective rooms. Menelaus is must be Helen’s husband.

Cite/ Lines in the story that will support my answer.

Helen watches the fight with King Priam from the walls of Troy, and points out the chief leaders of the opposing forces. Just as Menelaus is on the point of killing Paris, his protector, the goddess Aphrodite takes him safely out of the battle and back to his bedroom in Troy.

Modern day Paris/Menelaus

The modern Menelaus and Paris are the one that are fighting for their love. The ones that are happening in the love triangle. Menelaus are the one that is winning in case of fighting but Paris is the one that is always lose but he will win the heart of the girl.
